Theme

After laboring over this topic of my "theme" for my tent trailer, I think I've finally settled on one theme. I tried on several ideas. I even shopped for items related to those ideas. After some serious soul searching, I discovered that I'm not any of those "themes." I'm simple, yet complicated. I'm organized, yet disorganized. Overall, I've never veered from the path of being "mother earth." My family has said it for years, and my husband reminds me daily that that is who I am. So why deny it myself. I am the ultimate make it yourself, save the planet, one person can make a difference type. My theme will be all about saving the earth and our fellow man. After months and months of new ideas, I feel like I found the one that fits.

Hugs,
Jenni

Trailer News

Since I have not had my cute little trailer to work on and post updates I have been very lax in updating this blog. However, I have recently been given a tent trailer and plan to use the same name SoCal Gal for my trailer name. It needs work, but I will update y'all as I get things fixed. Thanks for stopping by.

Cowgirl Prom

So I spent the weekend in Orange, California, with my Sisters on the Fly. We had a Cowgirl Prom weekend. It was so much fun that I regretted having to come home. Don't get me wrong, I love my hubby, but there is something special about time with women. We share the good, the bad, and the ugly, and still love each other. We understand that our past is what makes us who we are. So thank you to all of the gals I spent time with this weekend. A good time was had by all, and we even earned some badges along the way. You go my Cigar buddies! Jayne and Julie, "EGG!" I'll never forget "That's nice," and "Bless your heart..." Can't wait for our next adventure!

Getting Ready for Julian

It is only a few weeks until my trip to Julian for the weekend. I'm ecstactic but SoCal Gal is no where near ready. I've taken out a cabinet, ripped out the carpet, and am contemplating painting the inside before my trip. Of course priority number one is to get the door off and repaired. I'm thinking Saturday is a full work day. Yikes! So much to do and so little time to do it. At this point I'll be happy to just get the door repaired and get a new lock. I wouldn't want anyone to steal my wonderful Micky and Minnie items.

Table Questions Solved

Well I decided to go forward with a piece of wood that I can paint for my table. Now my decisions are what type of wood to use and design. I'm planning my design now and can't wait to be able to get started. As soon as I get it done I will post pictures. I'm also working on some designs for my cabinet doors. Yikes!

Wood vs Veneer

I am looking at replacing the table in my SoCal Gal and I've been doing a lot of research. The table was originally a piece of plywood with laminate on top and metal siding. While looking into revitalized trailers I discovered a few people have replaced the table top with a piece of wood that they have painted and sealed. I started thinking that this might be a way to incorporate a table cloth without using cloth. I could paint the design onto the table top. However, I'm a little nervous that the sealer might make the table tacky to the touch and I certainly don't want that. I think it would be fine in the winter months, but what about those hot and muggy summers. I would be devastated to discover my hard work was ruined. If anyone has any thoughts on the topic I'd be happy to hear them. In the meantime, I guess I'll focus and flipping the axel so that it gives me a little more clearance on the bottom of my trailer. YIKES!

Okay so it has been awhile since I updated this blog. I have not made many improvements to my SoCal Gal, but the few I have made make it feel much more special. It makes it feel like it is finally my trailer and I'm not borrowing it from anyone else. Here are a couple of pics from "Before" and a few from "After", but these are not by any means the FINAL AFTER.
